We are currently preparing for the re-dedication service of the Officer Avenue of Honour, to be held on 18 April 2026. As part of this commemorative event, we are searching for living relatives of Corporal Percival Thomas Beadel (Service Number 820) to join us in honouring his memory.

Percival was a labourer from Officer, Victoria, when he enlisted on 29 March 1915. He served with the 24th Australian Infantry Battalion and saw action at Gallipoli before moving to the Western Front. Sadly, Percival died of wounds on 17 January 1917 at the 6th General Hospital in Rouen, France, after being hit by shell splinters during a bombing party.

Family Connections

To help us find his descendants or extended family, here are the details of his immediate relatives:

  • Parents: Charles Joseph Beadel (deceased 1912) and Mary Hannah Beadel (later Mary Hannah Maybury).
  • Siblings: Percival was one of several children. His known siblings include:
    • Frederick Charles Beadle (1885–1965).
    • Albert George Beadle (1886–?).
    • Charles David Beadle (1890–1956).
    • Claude Seymour Beadle (1892–1966).
    • Dorothy Beadle (1894–1977).
